Jon Whitfield
Jon has spent nearly forty years working in the justice system specialising in cases of serious crime, misconduct by professionals and mental health difficulties all of which require the careful analysis of complex evidence and human interaction. He was instrumental in overseeing the creation and running of a barristers' chambers, pension and business enterprises to negotiate best value in contracting. As part of his commitment to improving mental health Jon was a trustee of a charity dedicated to improving mental health services in Africa.
With a lifelong interest in the performance and promotion of music and poetry Jon is a trustee of Winchester Poetry Festival and Ship Inn Arts, Ashford Hill. He has managed several small open-air festivals and regular open-mic events for people to perform in a relaxed atmosphere. Whether it is an informal open-mic session, a renowned musician or entertainer of an orchestral performance Jon believes that the importance of the arts to personal wellbeing and society cannot be overstated.
