A festive photo in a house with lots of people around a dining table, being lit by a light on the table and the Christmas tree that sits behind. At the head of the table is Eliza Carthy in a black long sleeve top with a black fur hat, and Jon Boden who is in a white t-shirt an brown waistcoat with a thin red scarf. Eliza is laughing and Jon is smiling. Other people at the table is three older men shrouded in darkness in the foreground, another older man in a similar outfit to Jon, but with the addition of a top hat and glasses, he is drinking from a tankard with a goose sat between him and Jon. There is also a man dressed in all red with a demonic mask on his forehead next to Eliza, a large goat like puppet, similar to a pantomime horse behind her, and a man in all black with a homemade red mask with beads strung round it and two large sticks coming out behind Jon.

Long before the tradition of carolling, festive revellers would go house-to-house, exchanging songs for money, food and ale. Coming from the old English waes hael, 'wassail' is a toast wishing good.

Eliza Carthy and Jon Boden combine their considerable talents and reputations within the UK folk scene for a nationwide Wassail, wishing good health to all.

Presenting seasonal material, among a stage of illuminated Christmas trees, they will take you back to some of the oldest songs in the English canon, spreading good cheer and lighting up the darkest days of the year.
